Superb unit. The DAC, headphone amp and preamp performance are top notch. The headphone amp is not the most powerful and may struggle with inefficient planars but it sounds wonderful with the HD820. The user interface and remote are intuitive. Volume control is digital. There is no equalizer or crossfeed but there are 7 selectable DAC filters which have subtle differences. Highly recommmended.

This is a fantastic DAC. Audio quality is top-notch. The graphical interface is very intuitive to use. The Eversolo app (phone, tablet, and Mac / PC) is even more so. The DAC-Z8 has five inputs: USB-B, USB-C, SPDIF coax, Toslink optical. and Bluetooth 5.0 (which supports APTX HD/LDAC). Very few DACs have two USB inputs. There's a USB-A port, but that's only for firmware updates. For output, one can use RCA (unbalanced coax), balanced XLR, or both simultaneously. There's also a 1/4" headphone jack. Setup takes only a few minutes. Once complete, the only thing you might need to do is to select the input that you wish to listen to at any particular moment.
