Sangean WR-15 AM/FM Table Top Radio WOOD
[WR-15WL]
$169.99
Great product. Very quick service. One of the big companies gave me a date 5 months out. Electronics for Less Canada had the product out to the East Coast for me in just a couple of days. Will go here first next time.
This radio has more base than I expected and the AM stations do not work as well as I had hoped for. FM stations okay.
I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of this little radio. Sound is good with a nice bass.

Great! Great! Great! sound is perfect, and reception awesome!
I was looking for the most basic radio that would not need batteries and the Sangean WR-15 does the trick. Not being to versed in how it works behind the scenes, I like its simplicity and it works great inside my apartment building. I receive very clearly all the local stations and the provided wire antenna helps well too. The wood finish looks great and the sound is very good for a mono speaker. The feel of the knobs is great and I like the additional Aux input.
We bought this radio with the intention of using it on our kitchen countertop and given it's small footprint, retro looks and wood finishing we figured it was a good choice. The knobs are plastic but have a good feel when they are turned, the wood is nicely finished and adds to the charm of the radio and the sound quality is good. There is an AUX Port on the back of the radio that allows you to plug in any device you like if you are tired with listening to your radio stations. There is also an option to use the internal antenna or plug in an external antenna.
Things that we don't like about the radio start with the AM reception. Sangean USA States that the plug can interfere with AM reception and to keep the radio at least 1 foot away if you are having problems. It was a static mess and even the one footmark it still was not listenable. If you like AM radio I would not recommend this model. The other issue is that talk radio can be boomy and there is no tone adjustment. We have the WR-15 and the WR-11 and find they both have the same sound quality.
I should not that there is a WR-15bt with Bluetooth but it is only available in Europe. I suppose you could plug-in I e with Bluetooth but it is only available in Europe. I suppose you could plug in A Bluetooth adapter in the back and use it that way.
All in all this is a good radio and I would recommend it to FM listeners.
