Would have given 5 stars if not for the bright blue light on the front(what were they thinking) and the red lights on the back. The simple solution is to remove the top and pull the lights out. Much easier than trying to cover them with blackout material.

I am impressed by the solid all metal construction of this unit. It was much heavier than I thought it would be and appears to be a quality product. The actual sockets are heavy duty bakelite plastic which has proven durability. I have already had one lightning storm and one power outage and there was no damage to any equipment so the unit may already have paid for itself. If there is one design weakness, it is the pitch of the grounded outlets. Some of the non standard 3 prong connectors are a bit wide for adjacent use and I had to be a bit creative in order to get all my devices plugged in. All things considered, I think this product deserves a recommendation to purchase.
