The Audio-Technica AT-VM670xSP is purpose-built for authentic playback of 78 rpm mono records, delivering a focused, low-noise sound image with excellent durability and tonal accuracy. Part of the AT-VMx series, this cartridge features a 3.0 mil conical bonded stylus specifically designed to match the wider grooves of 78 rpm shellac records, ensuring stable tracking and reduced surface noise.

Unlike stereo cartridges, the AT-VM670xSP electrically sums the left and right channels and connects its dual magnets to produce a true mono signal. This design minimizes groove noise while preserving musical detail. Optimized PCUHD copper coils with reduced turns improve transient response and musical realism, while the low-resonance polymer housing and aluminum cantilever provide consistent, reliable performance.
