FiiO UTWS3 True Wireless Bluetooth Amplifier 2PIN

Got this for me CIEM's. I like that the case houses the CIEM's as well when not in use. Used it on some flights, the connection was flawless and the sound quality is good too. The only complaint is that it can't pair to iPhone and iPad at the same time. To switch between devices you need to turn off BlueTooth on the device you no longer want to use.

EFLC had the product packaged well and delivery only took a day for regular shipping. 5 star rating for EFLC. As far as the product the Fiio Utws3 Performs great. It is as advertised. However Fiio being a relatively small company has some draw backs to be expected. First off If you plan on using the microphone feature it is poor in my experience it needs to be set to another setting in windows that causes a balance issue and amplification issues. I used it for online classes it was ok. Applications such as discord do not mix with this product. However I presume you are mainly looking for a portable iem when purchasing. Utws3 Performs extremely well in this regard. It does not change sound signature or tuning. It is Pretty powerful with it being one of 2 options with a additional amplifier. 25ma goes pretty far. I drive Tin t3 on these. I find I go 26/26 volume on the actual utws3 and about 30/60 on my Fiio M7 so half volume and you will never need more. Overall when using the utws3 its a solid 6/5. however it has some drawbacks. It sometimes does not auto wake the units when lifting lid. it also has some seating issues for putting it back in place. sometimes it doesn't make contact to the case. This means it does not charge the units. Overall you have to understand this isnt a big company so issues do happen occasionally. However my track record with Fiio is kinda spotty. As I have stated i have a M7 this unit is the only device i have had where software/firmware updates make a massive difference. Original when purchased battery was about 10h as advertised. however now after about 4-5 firmware's its more of 15h. Fiio has proven to me they can improve. However while each firmware fixed bugs it also added features that sometimes had bugs. So that's why I say its spotty. Overall I am basically being asked if it is worth the $120 Price tag. Absolutely. There is no competitors really the only other competitor is the CF01 that Is more than double cost and offers no new features beside wireless charging.

Amplification and general volume level are great, paired with FiiO Fh5. The only issues is that the charging pins don't always line up properly and it won't charge. Gotta clean and align the pins after sweat gets on them from a workout.

I received the MMCX version of FiiO UTWS3 from electronicsforless.ca (awesome quick+fast(next day!?!)+free shipping and decent price. Love it! Greater Toronto Area based retailer more plus.)

After using it on android and PC. (Have not tried it on iOS/Apple don't have one)The only IEMs using Shure 215.
This is a great product coming from using TRN BT20S PRO.
Comparing that to this FiiO UTWS3 is way higher quality in terms of connectivity and constant steady connection. Doesn't drop connections as often or rather I say rarely as constantly as the other products. The main reason of this huge advantage, bluetooth connection. And among other things.

Pros:
+ FiiO's app [EQ customs, audio adjustable levels (L/R balance + Amplify, System Sounds and Calls), button function preset (only 3 presets), Firmware updateable. (v0.2.45 BNiB to v0.2.46 latest), custom idle power off.]
+ Metal feeling charging case. Inside has huge area for any side IEMs for storage.
+ Magnetic buds can be attached together with/without the case.
+ semi-tight and short fit around the ears, but less dangles of the base. Which is good not bothering yourself.
+ Authenticity checker (checked mine and its real. Thanks elfc!)

So-Sos:
~ 3 set preset custom button presets is lacking of personal customization. (No optional selections on 1-2-3-long presses. Just pre-determine sets.)
~ Iffy and somewhat clueless firmware update experience (update one earbud at a time. Must turn off the other. Don't put any of them inside the case. Can't tell if device is in use or not when updating causing device not ready wait for restart. But simple youtube tutorials will set you in place faster than text instructions.)

Cons:
- Non-modular ear hooks. (can't change from mmcx to 0.78mm or 0.75mm pins.)
- Pretty large size case. (can't really feel comfortable with these in the jeans pocket or any workout routine I bet.)

I have not tested these long enough for battery life longevity and durability. I hoping it is just as advertised.

This is really great product to use and must buy for those want wireless MMCX users.

The sound quality is very good. But they won’t properly drive, IEM that require a lot of power. My JVC IEM have no base. But my Tape IEMs sound fantastic.
Connectivity is very good. Phone calls sound great. And my friends report that they can hear me well. The case is a little finicky. They amps often don’t disconnect when placed in the case. The app is very basic. No EQ and can’t update firmware on iOS. But they do the job. And the sound quality is great.

Sound quality is very good pairing can be difficult.
Overall very happy with purchase delivery was very fast about 3 days.
