HiFiMan Arya Planar Over-ear Headphone

This is an absolutely incredible sounding headphone. The bass was a little light until about 40-50 hours of usage and now it is truly a monster. I don't even bother with my HD800 now and I spend less time with my MDR-Z1R even though I still enjoy that from time to time. This headphone personifies the best qualities a planar has to offer: tight and fast response with excellent bass extension. I didn't even need to EQ it on the first day I got them but I eventually tweaked it a little because I like more bass. The high frequencies are bright and energized but stop right before they would get sibilant and painful. I think this is the first headphone I've ever bought that I didn't have to "just get used to" some quirk with the sound. My only complaint is the squeaky hinge where the yokes enter the ear cups. It's a little annoying but might wear down with time and the sound is just too good to give this anything but 5 stars!
