FiiO M17 Hi-Res Digital Audio Desktop Flagship Portable Music Player

The sounds from this DAP is really something you need to try for yourself to believe! It is as if some audiophile engineers were sitting around a table one day and thought: what if we created a DAP that had everything...great sound (of course), but also great power (strong enough to drive any type of headphones), and a great DAC stand alone function as well? What would that look like?...well, I think the world found out what it would look like with the FiiO M17. The one downside, however, that is pointed out by every critic I have seen review this DAP does not relate to its functionality, but rather to its size. Initially, the near universal criticism regarding its size gave me pause in deciding to buy it. After taking the plunge, however, I am glad I went ahead with the purchase.

Let me be honest - this DAP is a beast! There is a reason it is referred to as a "portable desktop" player. You are not going to slide this into an inside sport jacket pocket on your way to a meeting with a client. That said, the size really is something I have not found to be a large issue (e.g. I typically carry my DAP in a bag or briefcase rather than a pocket, so there was not big adjustment for me in that regard). I knew what I was getting into before I purchased it, so the brick-like size/weight were things I knew I would have to adjust to. Adjust I did - I even use it at the gym without issues.

I love this DAP: I love the power, I love the battery life, I love the functionality, and, of course, I love the sound (which you can tailor to suit your preferences). If you are looking for a DAP that can do a heck of a lot really, really, well, I would encourage you to take a look at this one.

Awesome player. Highly capable and resolving. The sound is impressive, dynamic, wide and accurate. Don’t think there is a better Player at any price point out there.
UI is snappy and so far glitch free.

The best part about it is it is a perfect match with my um mest Indigo.

The only problem I have with this unit is the case. Each side are empty, there is a gap in between the case and the side chassis. I know they are selling the pads but why do not including it with the m17.

I wish I could plug my turntable on this unit. Other than that it's perfect.

I Purchased the FiiO M17 about 2-3 weeks ago. I had the M11 and M11 Plus LTD before this and can say all three were good players and have their own unique sound signature. For my review visit my YouTube channel Car Audio Horizons, thanks.

Great product. The sound is just awesome with my FH7 iem. The Enhanced Over-Ear Headphone mode give a lot of power with my Focal headphone. The product arrived fast and was as described. I will shop again.
