Breville BDF500XL 'The Smart Fryer'

Excellent product and quality. Restaurant style frying which is great to have at this time. The perfect fryer!

I have been pleasantly surprised over the last few years at how eflc is able to provide me with the Breville appliances I'm looking for at prices cheaper than Amazon. The Breville Smart Fryer was no exception. Additionally, I found the shipping to be fast. My only critique about the shipping is that the box was simply wrapped in brown paper in preparation for it's trip through our Canadian Postal system. The package arrived damaged, but the product itself was fine because of Breville's excellent packaging.
I used the fryer to make fish and chips 2 nights ago and fried chicken last night. The fryer regains temperature quickly and is just the right size for my Wife and I. For a larger family, more kitchen coordination would be required since there would be more batches required.
I could not get the unit to work at first. I was not sliding the heating coil assembly onto the oil tray properly. There are tabs at the back of the tray and heating assembly that must be properly aligned in order for the unit to function.
There's a learning curve with this machine, perhaps more than any of the other Breville appliances I own. That's not a negative, just a realization that I should have more carefully followed the manual prior to using the fryer for the first time.
Overall, I'm once again very pleased with eflc and with my Breville purchase.
