Breville 'The Dose Control' BCG400SIL Conical Burr Coffee Grinder

I use this grinder with my Lelit Anna and it does the job very well. For a low level grinder it is surprisingly good. Not much clumping and retention. I recommend if you're on a budget!

Doomed to fail. The Breville grinders are known to fail after 1-3 years because the impeller pushing out the ground coffee is made of plastic and it gets sanded down so much with use that it does not do its job anymore. This leads to the grinder jamming. Never revisions have a metal impeller to prevent this failure.

Asked the "Expert" from customer suppor at EFLC who told be they are selling the newer version with metal impeller. Decided to buy one, received it and checked : it has the PLASTIC impeller. So now I'm torn between keeping a supposedly good grinder bought at a great price that is doomed to need a repair in 1-3 years, or return, buy elsewhere for more $ and hope it has the metal impeller.
