Frank,take a look at this site as well for some extremely in depth calibration settings. The disc will get you so far, these settings complete every calibration setting barring using the service menu.

Purchased the Samsung PN50C8000 from electronics for less almost a week ago. After much research we decided on plasma over LCD or LED because of the following reasons: 1) Both LCD and LED are loaded with technology to try and emulate the quality of plasma. After visiting a local tv repair shop we were shocked at the number of new tv's in for repair. Although all sets have their issues the fact that plasma needs less technology to produce an awesome picture sealed the deal for us. 2) We chose the Samsung PN50C8000 because we are using it in our very bright family room with lots of windows, it was definitely the right decision, there is no glare or issues due to the bright room. 3)The 3D was a bonus, the kids absolutely love it and I have to admit that it is really impressive, much better than I thought it would be. The fact that I can enjoy it at home rather than paying a fortune in a theatre will help pay for the set. 4) We were planning to wait till after Christmas to buy but the deal that electronics for less gave us was awesome! They delivered the set when promised and were a pleasure to deal with. We also appreciate that they have a bricks and mortor store in case we ever need service.
Having bought the tv and being very very happy with it we are now wondering about calibration, this unit comes with a home setting that automatically calibrates for the most common settings but of course now I'm wondering if that's enough. I have come across a website that talks about the Spears & Munsil high definition benchmark blu-ray dvd which is used to help calibrate your set. It's just over $20.00 so I've ordered it, just wondering if electronics for less is considering carrying it? Would be a nice bonus feature! Thanks again for the great buying experience, always nice to support a small store that is able to compete and beat the big box stores!
