Audio-Technica AT33xMLD Dual Moving Coil Stereo Cartridge
The Audio-Technica AT33xMLD is the latest evolution of the renowned AT33 Series, delivering enhanced warmth, fullness, and expressive mid-to-low frequency performance. Incorporating advanced materials and structural refinements — including the use of die-cast zinc at the cartridge base to suppress resonance — the AT33xMLD extracts extraordinary detail across the entire audio spectrum.
Featuring a nude microlinear stylus mounted to a rigid duralumin tapered pipe cantilever, this cartridge offers exceptional tracking accuracy and nuanced sound reproduction. Its newly developed suspension system, utilizing piano wire and a refined rubber damper, slightly lowers dynamic compliance for more substantial, authoritative sound — particularly suited to rock and jazz recordings from the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s.
The composite body construction — combining die-cast zinc, aluminum, and high-rigidity polymer — disperses resonance evenly for balanced, natural playback without emphasizing specific frequency ranges. Independent left and right PCOCC coils, a neodymium magnet, and a permendur yoke ensure powerful output, superior channel separation, and high-resolution analog performance.
