iFi iDSD PHANTOM Reference Streaming DAC & Headphone Amplifier

The iFi iDSD PHANTOM combines a reference-class DAC, ultra-resolution network streamer and powerful headphone amplifier in a single flagship system. Designed as a high-end system centrepiece for headphones, active speakers or an amplifier and passive speaker system, it combines advanced digital processing with selectable solid-state and tube analogue stages.

At the heart of the iDSD PHANTOM is iFi's Crysopeia FPGA engine with DSD2048 Remastering. Four Burr-Brown DSD1793 DACs operate in a custom interleaved configuration, providing native decoding up to DSD512 and PCM up to 768kHz, while the remastering engine can process audio up to DSD2048.

Three selectable analogue operating modes allow the presentation to be tailored to different headphones and listening preferences. Solid-State mode uses discrete J-FET circuitry for speed and precision, Tube mode introduces hand-matched NOS GE5670 valves, and Tube+ further increases the valve character for a warmer presentation.

The powerful headphone amplifier delivers at least 4,676mW RMS through its balanced outputs at 64 ohms. An extensive selection of headphone connections includes 3.5 mm S-Balanced, 4.4 mm balanced, 4-pin XLR, dual 3-pin XLR and 6.3 mm outputs.

The integrated network streamer supports Qobuz Connect, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Roon, AirPlay and DLNA/UPnP. Ethernet provides wired network connectivity, while wireless setup and advanced configuration can be managed through the iFi Nexis app, which also provides access to connected storage and over-the-air updates.

JVCKENWOOD K2 and K2HD processing is incorporated to restore harmonic information lost during production and digital encoding. For additional sound customization, XBass Pro provides analogue low-frequency adjustment at 10Hz, 20Hz or 40Hz, while XSpace Pro provides selectable 30-, 60- and 90-degree spatial settings.
