Sennheiser HD 620 S Audiophile Closed-Back Over-Ear Headphones

The Sennheiser HD 620 S combines the privacy and isolation of closed-back headphones with the natural, spacious sound typically associated with open-back audiophile designs. Featuring reference-grade 42mm angled dynamic transducers, precision-engineered acoustic components and a lightweight, durable construction, the HD 620 S delivers an immersive high-fidelity listening experience without unwanted distractions.

Designed for music enthusiasts, audiophiles and listeners who appreciate detailed sound reproduction, the HD 620 S creates an expansive stereo soundstage while helping isolate the listener from surrounding noise. Its innovative open-baffle acoustic architecture and angled transducers reproduce natural spatial imaging, accurate instrument placement and exceptional musical detail.

Open Sound in a Closed-Back Design

The HD 620 S challenges the conventional limitations of closed-back headphones by delivering a remarkably open and spacious listening experience. Its carefully engineered acoustic architecture combines a closed-back enclosure with an open-baffle design that helps create a wide, natural soundstage.

This approach allows listeners to enjoy the detail, separation and spatial presentation associated with open-back headphones while maintaining the privacy and passive noise isolation of a closed-back design.

Reference-Grade 42mm Angled Transducers

The HD 620 S features precision-engineered 42mm dynamic transducers with 38mm diaphragms. The drivers are positioned at an angle to help reproduce the spatial characteristics of traditional loudspeaker listening.

This angled arrangement creates a more natural presentation of instruments and vocals, with accurate stereo imaging and a convincing sense of depth. The result is a detailed, expansive soundstage that extends beyond the conventional in-head presentation of many closed-back headphones.

Ultra-Light Aluminum Voice Coil

An ultra-light aluminum voice coil is designed to provide accurate driver control and excellent transient response. With a nominal impedance of 150 ohms, the HD 620 S is engineered for precise, detailed audio reproduction from compatible high-quality headphone sources.

The lightweight voice coil construction helps maintain clarity during complex musical passages, preserving subtle details and dynamic contrasts without excessive distortion.

Natural, Detailed High-Fidelity Sound

With a frequency response extending from 6Hz to 30kHz, the HD 620 S reproduces deep bass, expressive midrange detail and extended high frequencies.

The carefully tuned acoustic system delivers controlled low-frequency performance, natural vocals and precise instrumental separation. Total harmonic distortion below 0.05% at 1kHz and 90dB SPL supports clean, accurate sound reproduction across demanding musical material.

Passive Noise Isolation for Distraction-Free Listening

The closed-back earcup construction helps reduce external distractions and limits sound leakage, making the HD 620 S suitable for focused listening at home, in shared spaces or at a desk.

Unlike electronic active noise cancellation systems, the HD 620 S relies on its physical acoustic design and earcup seal to provide passive isolation without batteries or additional signal processing.

Durable Steel-Reinforced Construction

The HD 620 S features steel-reinforced earcup covers and headband sliders designed to provide strength, rigidity and long-term durability.

Its carefully engineered construction balances structural stability with comfortable everyday wear, making the headphones suitable for extended music listening sessions.

Comfortable Over-Ear Design

Soft artificial leather earpads with internal ventilation provide a comfortable fit while maintaining the acoustic seal required for effective passive noise isolation.

The lightweight chassis, adjustable headband and generously sized circumaural earcups are designed to support extended listening without sacrificing stability or acoustic performance.

Detachable Cable and Flexible Connectivity

The HD 620 S includes a detachable 1.8-metre audio cable with a standard 3.5mm stereo plug. A screw-on 6.35mm adapter is also included for connection to compatible headphone amplifiers, stereo receivers and professional audio equipment.

The detachable cable design supports convenient replacement and long-term ownership. With no batteries or wireless electronics required, the HD 620 S provides a direct analog listening experience.

Designed for Long-Term Ownership

Sennheiser engineers its audiophile headphones for lasting performance through extensive durability testing, including mechanical stress, cable and wear testing.

Replaceable accessories such as cables and earpads help extend the useful life of the headphones, making the HD 620 S a practical choice for dedicated music enthusiasts.
