Your stylus travels about 1 km for every LP that you play and is bound to pick up quite a lot of dust and sticky debris along the way. Eventually a small mass of fluff builds up to such a point that the stylus can no longer trace the groove and the music is interrupted by the needle skating across the record. Long before this point however, the tiniest clusters of accumulated finger-grease combined with microscopic dust particles are already robbing you of the enjoyment of crystal clear highs and low-tracking-error, distortion-free playback that you have paid for. Your ears might tell you that something is up, but your eye will be unable to spot the easiest upgrade available to all serious vinyl enthusiasts - that of simply cleaning your stylus.
The answer comes in the form of the Golding Stylus Cleaning Kit. It provides everything you need to diagnose and rectify the problem. Starting with a highly resolving and aberration free 20x hand lens, you can minutely inspect the diamond prfile for any irregular-shaped, attached debris. Normally the diamond should look like a small conical pyramid with perhaps a facet or two cut into the very tip - any irregularities which deviate from this are most likely due to accumulated dirt but could possibly also indicate wear or damage. A worn stylus can irreparably destroy a treasured record collection, so it is important to rectify this at once. A specially designed velvet pad is provided to safely remove any loose accumulations of uff and if the stylus is still contaminated there is a specially formulated cleaning solution to be applied without fear of damaging the delicate stylus bond.
