The Sonos Connect works well for what it does, to connect your Sonos system to your existing audio equipment. I'd like it more if it would provide 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound, but setting my system to 5 speaker stereo mode works well with the Connect.
The sound quality produces is excellent, but this is equally a function of your existing system. If you have a good speaker/receiver system and want to incorporate it into your Sonos setup the Connect is the way to go. However, if your existing stereo isn't that good, don't wast your money on a Connect. In this type of scenario, you'd be better to just get Sonos speakers and set them up as a stereo pair and toss your old system.
