This is a follow up review. I previously stated that I thought it read usb files slower than my other devices.It does not. I've tested it with other usb drives and it's up to par. The Bluetooth works flawlessly and the tuner reception is excellent when a decent antenna is used...not the supplied wire. It's perfect for a bedroom or small office but much beyond that would be pushing it's limit. As I previously stated I'm using 3 way 6ohm Denon speakers but a sub is needed if you want decent lower end. I ran it for most of the day yet I detected no heat coming from it. Well vented chassis and full size remote that takes AAA's. That I prefer over smaller button battery remotes. If you're an audiophile don't buy this but if you're looking for decent stereo sound snd a receiver that has a small footprint with a full array of features then you can't beat this Teac.
After looking at Onkyo,Denon, Yamaha and other compact receivers I decided on the Teac which had all the features I was looking for. I've had it only 1 day and so far I like it. I have it paired with a set of Denon 3way Bookshelf speakers( 6ohm) and what I'm amazed with is it's soundstage which is very broad and open. The Denon's have never sounded this good.Perfect clarity even with volume at max. I can't detect any distortion. Bass and Treble are good but a sub-woofer adds the depth that makes this sound like a much larger system. I'm using a Sony powered sub. The build quality is excellent. I would have given this a 5 but the remote has to be pointed directly at the sensor and even then it can be slow to respond to commands. It also has a slightly longer gap between songs when using a usb drive.I have 2 other units which read quicker especially in random mode. The cd player is awesome.Love it. I have yet tried a sd card or Bluetooth device but I don't expect problems but if there is I will modify my review. I have to say that Electronics for less is amazing. I live on the east coast yet this arrived in 2 days. Now that's service.
