Sonos Arc Ultra 9.1.4 Dolby Atmos Smart Soundbar with Sound Motion

The Sonos Arc Ultra is a premium smart soundbar engineered to deliver immersive cinematic sound, exceptionally clear dialogue and powerful bass from an elegant, all-in-one design. Featuring Sonos Sound Motion technology, 14 custom-engineered drivers and 15 Class D digital amplifiers, Arc Ultra creates an expansive 9.1.4-channel Dolby Atmos spatial audio experience that surrounds listeners with detailed sound from every direction.

Designed to complement large-screen televisions and sophisticated home theatre installations, Arc Ultra combines dedicated upward-firing height drivers, advanced acoustic processing and a revolutionary compact woofer architecture. Sound Motion technology enables substantially greater bass performance from a smaller driver assembly, delivering up to twice the bass output of the original Sonos Arc without requiring a larger enclosure.

With HDMI eARC, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, Apple AirPlay 2 and comprehensive Sonos multi-room integration, Arc Ultra provides flexible entertainment options for movies, television, gaming and music. Trueplay room calibration, adjustable Speech Enhancement, Night Sound and intuitive voice and touch controls complete a premium listening experience that can expand with compatible Sonos subwoofers and surround speakers.

Immersive 9.1.4 Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio

Arc Ultra delivers an expansive 9.1.4-channel spatial audio presentation using its sophisticated acoustic architecture and advanced sound processing. Dolby Atmos technology allows compatible soundtracks to position audio around and above the listening area, creating a convincing sense of dimensional space.

Precisely angled drivers and carefully engineered acoustic waveguides distribute sound throughout the room, while two dedicated upward-firing tweeters reproduce height information by directing sound toward the ceiling. These elements work together to create a wide front soundstage, enveloping surround effects and realistic overhead sound.

Whether enjoying cinematic action sequences, live concert recordings or immersive Dolby Atmos music, Arc Ultra reproduces spatial details with impressive separation and precise placement. The result is an engaging home theatre experience from a single streamlined soundbar.

Revolutionary Sound Motion Bass Technology

Arc Ultra introduces Sonos Sound Motion, an innovative low-frequency transducer technology designed to produce powerful bass from an exceptionally compact driver assembly. Its proprietary four-motor, dual-membrane woofer architecture moves air efficiently while occupying substantially less space than a conventional bass driver.

This breakthrough allows Arc Ultra to deliver up to twice the bass output of the original Sonos Arc while maintaining a slim enclosure. Deep musical passages, dramatic movie effects and low-frequency soundtrack details gain greater weight and impact without requiring a separate subwoofer.

For listeners seeking even greater low-frequency extension, Arc Ultra can be expanded with a compatible Sonos Sub or Sub Mini, sold separately.

14 Custom-Engineered Drivers

Arc Ultra incorporates 14 purpose-designed acoustic drivers carefully arranged to maximize performance within its compact cabinet. Seven silk-dome tweeters reproduce detailed high frequencies and clear dialogue, while six midwoofers provide balanced and accurate midrange reproduction.

Two of the tweeters are positioned to fire upward, creating dedicated height effects for Dolby Atmos playback. The remaining high-frequency drivers use precise orientation and acoustic waveguides to expand the soundstage and deliver directional detail.

A dedicated Sound Motion woofer supplies powerful low-frequency reproduction, completing the acoustic system and providing a full-range listening experience from a single soundbar.

15 Class D Digital Amplifiers

Each of Arc Ultra's 15 Class D digital amplifiers is carefully tuned to the soundbar's acoustic architecture. This advanced amplification system provides precise control over the individual driver elements, enabling detailed reproduction, controlled dynamics and balanced output across the listening area.

By integrating amplification, digital processing and driver design into a coordinated system, Sonos optimizes the soundbar for demanding movie soundtracks, music playback and everyday television viewing.

Advanced Speech Enhancement

Arc Ultra features an improved centre-channel architecture designed to maximize vocal clarity and dialogue intelligibility. Advanced Speech Enhancement provides multiple selectable levels of dialogue clarity through the Sonos app, allowing listeners to adjust speech reproduction according to their preferences.

This feature is particularly useful when watching dialogue-heavy movies, television dramas and documentaries, or when speech is difficult to distinguish from background music and effects.

Listeners can adjust Speech Enhancement without changing the overall system configuration, making it easy to adapt the presentation to different content and listening conditions.

Trueplay Room Calibration

Sonos Trueplay technology analyzes the acoustic characteristics of the listening environment and optimizes the soundbar's equalization to suit the room. By accounting for reflections, furniture and placement, Trueplay helps achieve a balanced and consistent listening experience.

Arc Ultra supports Trueplay tuning through compatible iOS and Android devices, providing flexible calibration options for different household devices.

Additional adjustments are available through the Sonos app, including bass, treble and loudness controls, allowing listeners to tailor the sound to their preferences.

Night Sound for Comfortable Listening

Night Sound helps balance the dynamic range of movie and television soundtracks by reducing the intensity of loud effects and enhancing quieter sounds. This allows listeners to enjoy dialogue and subtle soundtrack details at lower volume levels.

It is particularly useful during evening viewing or in shared living environments where sudden explosions and other high-volume effects may be disruptive.

Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 Connectivity

Built-in Wi-Fi 6 provides high-performance wireless networking for music streaming, Sonos multi-room integration and supported voice services. Arc Ultra connects to compatible 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless networks using modern Wi-Fi standards.

Bluetooth 5.3 enables direct audio streaming from compatible Bluetooth-enabled smartphones, tablets and other devices. A dedicated Bluetooth button simplifies pairing and connection management.

Apple AirPlay 2 provides additional wireless streaming flexibility for compatible Apple devices, allowing music and other audio content to be played through Arc Ultra over a Wi-Fi network.

HDMI eARC for Premium Television Audio

Arc Ultra connects to a compatible television through HDMI eARC or ARC using the included HDMI cable. HDMI eARC supports high-quality digital audio transmission, including Dolby Atmos from compatible sources and television configurations.

This single-cable connection simplifies installation and enables convenient control through supported HDMI-CEC television remotes. Arc Ultra can also be connected to televisions with optical audio outputs using the optional Sonos Optical Audio Adapter, sold separately.

For the best Dolby Atmos experience, a television with HDMI eARC and compatible source equipment is recommended. Available audio formats depend on the television, connected devices and playback content.

Expandable Sonos Home Theatre System

Arc Ultra can serve as the centrepiece of an expandable Sonos home theatre system. Compatible Sonos subwoofers can be added wirelessly to increase low-frequency extension and impact, while compatible Sonos speakers can function as dedicated surround channels.

Adding wireless surrounds creates a more enveloping listening environment, extending directional sound effects beyond the front soundstage. Multiple compatible Sonos components can be managed together through the Sonos app.

Arc Ultra also integrates into the Sonos multi-room ecosystem, allowing music to be played independently or synchronized across compatible speakers throughout the home.

TV Audio Swap with Sonos Ace

Arc Ultra supports TV Audio Swap with compatible Sonos Ace headphones, enabling television audio to be transferred from the soundbar to the headphones for private listening.

Using the Content Key on Sonos Ace, listeners can move compatible TV audio playback to their headphones without disturbing others in the room. This is especially useful for late-night viewing, personal entertainment and situations where private listening is preferred.

Voice Control and Touch Operation

Arc Ultra incorporates a far-field microphone array with advanced beamforming and multichannel echo cancellation for accurate voice detection. The soundbar supports Sonos Voice Control and Amazon Alexa, subject to regional and language availability.

Capacitive touch controls are positioned on a dedicated ledge behind the soundbar, helping maintain a clean appearance while providing convenient access to playback, volume and other supported functions.

A physical microphone switch allows users to disconnect microphone power when voice functions are not required. Integrated LED indicators communicate connection status, microphone activity, mute status and system information.

Elegant Low-Profile Design

Arc Ultra features a refined curved enclosure with a continuous grille designed to help sound disperse throughout the listening environment. The grille extends around the cabinet, supporting the soundbar's multidirectional acoustic architecture.

Measuring 1,178 mm (46.38") wide, 75 mm (2.95") high and 110.6 mm (4.35") deep, Arc Ultra offers substantial acoustic performance while maintaining a streamlined profile that complements large-screen televisions.

The soundbar can be positioned on suitable entertainment furniture or installed with a compatible optional wall mount. Its rear-positioned controls and carefully considered enclosure dimensions help maintain a clean, uncluttered home theatre appearance.

Efficient Design and Construction

Arc Ultra incorporates several refinements intended to improve efficiency and serviceability. Its construction uses more mechanical fasteners and fewer adhesives than the original Arc, supporting easier maintenance and improved component accessibility.

Additional refinements include halogen-free printed circuit board materials and reduced silicon usage. When operating as a standalone soundbar, Arc Ultra can consume up to 20% less energy while idle compared with the original Sonos Arc.
