KEF Kube 8 MIE 8" Powered Subwoofer 300W BLACK

The KEF Kube 8 MIE is a compact, high-performance powered subwoofer designed to deliver deep, accurate and dynamic bass for music, movies and gaming. Featuring an 8-inch front-firing long-throw driver, a powerful 300-watt RMS Class D amplifier and KEF's proprietary Music Integrity Engine (MIE) digital signal processing, the Kube 8 MIE delivers impressive low-frequency performance from a remarkably compact sealed enclosure.

As the smallest model in KEF's Kube MIE subwoofer series, the Kube 8 MIE combines advanced bass processing, flexible connectivity and intelligent room placement settings to integrate seamlessly into a wide variety of stereo and home theatre systems. Its sealed cabinet allows flexible positioning, while KEF SmartConnect technology automatically optimizes input gain for mono or stereo connections.

With bass extension down to 34Hz (-6dB), maximum output of 105dB and compatibility with the optional KEF KW1 wireless subwoofer adapter, the Kube 8 MIE provides a powerful and versatile bass solution without requiring a large enclosure.

Music Integrity Engine Digital Signal Processing

The Kube 8 MIE features KEF's proprietary Music Integrity Engine (MIE), a sophisticated suite of digital signal processing algorithms developed in-house to optimize subwoofer performance.

Tailored specifically to the Kube 8 MIE's driver, amplifier and sealed cabinet, Music Integrity Engine coordinates the subwoofer's acoustic components to deliver greater accuracy, improved dynamics and controlled bass reproduction.

Drawing upon technologies developed for KEF's LS60 Wireless and KC62, MIE helps maintain precise low-frequency performance even at demanding listening levels.

iBX Intelligent Bass Extension

KEF's iBX Intelligent Bass Extension technology is integrated into the Music Integrity Engine to maximize low-frequency performance from the compact 8-inch driver.

By continuously analyzing the incoming audio signal and making numerous real-time adjustments, iBX helps extend bass depth while maintaining dynamic output and minimizing distortion.

This intelligent processing allows the Kube 8 MIE to reproduce powerful low-frequency effects with precision and control, even when operating at higher output levels.

8-Inch Front-Firing Long-Throw Driver

The Kube 8 MIE features a custom-engineered 8-inch (200mm) front-firing long-throw woofer designed to move substantial amounts of air while maintaining accurate cone movement.

The front-firing configuration directs low-frequency energy into the listening environment, producing impactful bass that adds weight and realism to movie soundtracks, music and gaming.

With a frequency response of 34Hz to 140Hz (-6dB) and maximum output of 105dB, the Kube 8 MIE delivers controlled low-frequency reproduction from its compact cabinet.

300-Watt RMS Class D Amplification

A built-in 300-watt RMS Class D amplifier provides the power required to drive the Kube 8 MIE's long-throw woofer with precision and authority.

The amplifier is optimized for the driver's characteristics and the available internal cabinet volume, helping deliver efficient operation, controlled bass response and consistent performance.

Its Class D architecture provides substantial power while minimizing unnecessary heat generation, making it well suited to the subwoofer's compact sealed design.

KEF SmartConnect Intelligent Inputs

KEF SmartConnect technology automatically detects whether a mono or stereo RCA connection is being used and adjusts the input gain accordingly.

This intelligent system simplifies integration with AV receivers, stereo amplifiers and other compatible audio components while helping maintain appropriate subwoofer output levels.

Flexible Line-Level and Speaker-Level Connectivity

The Kube 8 MIE provides both RCA line-level inputs and speaker-level inputs, allowing integration with a wide variety of audio systems.

RCA connections support compatible AV receivers, preamplifiers and components with dedicated subwoofer or line-level outputs. Speaker-level inputs provide an alternative connection method for compatible amplifiers without dedicated subwoofer outputs.

A dedicated expansion port also supports the optional KEF KW1 wireless subwoofer adapter, providing additional installation flexibility.

Optional KEF KW1 Wireless Connectivity

The Kube 8 MIE is compatible with the KEF KW1 wireless subwoofer adapter, allowing wireless audio signal transmission from compatible source equipment when the optional adapter system is installed.

This can simplify subwoofer placement by eliminating the need for a long signal cable between the audio system and subwoofer.

The KW1 wireless adapter is sold separately and is not required for standard wired operation.

Three Room Placement EQ Settings

The Kube 8 MIE features three selectable room placement settings designed to optimize bass performance for different installation environments.

Powered by Music Integrity Engine processing, these settings adjust the subwoofer's response to account for the acoustic effects of placement near walls, in corners or within furniture cabinets.

This flexibility helps maintain balanced, controlled bass while allowing the subwoofer to be positioned conveniently within the listening space.

Adjustable Low-Pass Filter

An adjustable low-pass filter ranging from 40Hz to 140Hz allows the Kube 8 MIE to blend smoothly with compatible main loudspeakers.

A dedicated LFE setting is provided for integration with AV receivers and home theatre processors that manage bass crossover frequencies internally.

Flexible Power-On Modes

The Kube 8 MIE provides multiple power-on options to suit different system configurations.

Music Sense mode automatically wakes the subwoofer when an audio signal is detected, while Always On mode keeps it ready for immediate playback. A 12V trigger option supports coordinated power operation with compatible home theatre components.

Compact Sealed Cabinet Design

The Kube 8 MIE uses a sealed acoustic enclosure engineered for accurate and controlled bass reproduction. Unlike a ported design, the sealed cabinet does not require a bass-reflex opening, allowing greater flexibility when positioning the subwoofer near walls or inside suitable furniture.

Its compact dimensions of approximately 11.5 inches in height and width make it particularly suitable for smaller listening spaces and installations where a discreet subwoofer is preferred.
